High Pressure Countercurrent Laminar Flame Stabilization Device

Combustion chamber

This chamber has been designed for the study of laminar flame structure of countercurrent premixed flames but can be used in the case of partially premixed or diffusion flames.

• Maximum pressure = 50 bars, accuracy = 10-2 bar
• 4 optical ports for laser diagnostics applications (laser-induiced fluorescence, absorption, cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy, particle imaging velocimetry)
• Temperature measurements at different points in the chamber and control
• Safety systems : bursting disc, flame detection safety valve

Countercurrent burners

• 2 sets of convergent burners (internal diameter : 7 or 14,8 mm + co-flows)
• 5 gas supply lines per burner / mass flow meters controlled by Labview
• Burner temperature control
• Achieving stable flames up to P = 10 bars

Other experimental device

Flat flame burner (Patm) + sampling by microprobe + analysis by gas chromatography and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.
